Sexting and The commands Of Scripture

I believe the Scriptures, through edicts and examples, warn us against the sin of sexting. First, let us look at a few commands in the Bible against sexting:- If Apostle Paul lived in our time, he would have perhaps written that under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Paul writes thus: “Watch the way you talk. Let nothing foul or dirty come out of your mouth. Say only what helps, each word a gift” (Eph. 4:29). He goes on: “Though some tongues just love the taste of gossip, those who follow Jesus have better uses for language than that. Don’t talk dirty or silly. That kind of talk doesn’t fit our style. Thanksgiving is our dialect” (Eph. 5:4,)  When Paul writes to Timothy, he says, “But avoid profane foolish babblings, for they will increase to more ungodliness…” (2 Tim. 2:16) We must be wary of innocent beginning when it comes sexting – that is Paul’s point here.  “I wish I can see you now”  can soon become, . “I wish I can see you naked….”! Sexting- a sin

  What would the Scripture say about sexting? Check out Proverbs 7. It records the story of a  “naughty boy” . He had a sexual fling with a “woman” whose husband was not at home. He was lured to her home – thanks to her sexts! Proverbs 7.14-20 14 “Today I fulfilled my vows,      and I have food from my fellowship offering at home. 15  So I came out to meet you;      I looked for you and have found you! 16  I have covered my bed      with colored linens from Egypt. 17  I have perfumed my bed      with myrrh, aloes and cinnamon. 18  Come, let’s drink deeply of love till morning;      let’s enjoy ourselves with love! 19  My husband is not at home;      he has gone on a long journey. 20  He took his purse filled with money      and will not be home till full moon.” Let us convert that into a twenty-first-century sext:- “ I am a believer w...
